Thank you for your e-mail.

Following a recent court ruling, Dutch residents using Ladbrokes.com will be restricted to using certain sections of the site.

You will still be able to play poker and casino games as well as place bets on horse racing and greyhounds.

All other sports bets, including football and specials will be restricted. The lotto section and Balls will also be unavailable.

We regret that we cannot continue to provide you with the full range of betting opportunities but we do intend to appeal the courts decision, if necessary to the European Court of Justice. We will, of course, inform you as soon as normal service is resumed.

Voor het WK voetbal 2006 wilde ik 10 Euro zetten op Australië als winnaar van het toernooi. Toto Tip betaalde ongeveer 43 tegen 1 voor deze uitkomst; dat leek nogal weinig en ik zocht verder. Ladbrokes (UK) betaalde 150 tegen 1...

Maar op de Ladbrokes-site lukte het niet de weddenschap daadwerkelijk te plaatsen, er verscheen een foutmelding "we are unable to accept bets from your location".

Het bovenstaande bericht was het antwoord op de vraag waarom. E.e.a. is in 2009 nog steeds actueel.
